Engrave Love on the Heart for Eternity
A cat’s perspective

Aloha, Medium Friends. 😻 I’m back with the latest updates about my life. Today, I’m here to give you some sage advice on love. It’s time to share my nine lives’ worth of experience if not more, to churn out some gems.😻😻
Of course, I’m very comfortable and more confident talking about my expertise than any other self-help maestros. Surprisingly, my advice works wonders for all super-anxious, ultra-cautious, and over-accommodating beings. 😻
A health update before I put on my counsellor’s cap, let me give a health update on my hooman’s health. Yep! She’s still aging badly, still predictable, boring, and obsessive about me to a certain extent. Her tattoo is completely healed. Phew! I was a tiny bit worried if you know what I mean.😼
Does it make me appreciate her more? Well! I would argue that the love was already there whether she did engrave my paw on her ankle or not.
Since I want to focus on love and relationships in this post, I would like to begin with this quote:
“Love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely.” Unknown
If we’re not ready for commitment, things go south rapidly. Love is unconditional; otherwise, it’s not real. Reciprocation nurtures love, but it should be done with full sincerity and not to fulfill an obligation.
As a return gift for my birthday, I sent my hooman on a weekend cottage trip. The benefits were huge: peace, quiet and no pressure to snuggle for three days. I would have liked her to be away for the entire week; apparently, she cannot live without seeing me for more than 72 hours. Ugh. 😼

I also treated her to a nice lunch at Niagara Falls and got another brief respite of complete bliss by being alone for a few hours. 😻😻

Don’t get too attached to people; my second piece of advice for two major reasons. First, they don’t value you as much, and second, love becomes an obsession. The best way to maintain a healthy relationship is to give each other space to grow, evolve, and relax.
No matter how desperately she tries, I don’t let my hooman disturb my me-time.
Love prospers when we follow through on our promises, remain loyal, and shoo away toxicity around the relationship. I never make any promises to lure love; however, people confess love to me with the weirdest and most bizarre pledges.
When your special someone goes out of their way to show their love, acknowledge the gesture with humility, even if it makes you uncomfortable. Don’t get pressured to do something in return because it will defeat the purpose; it’s not a competition. 😻😻
We can show gratitude by spending some quality time with them or offering to do something they have been requesting, and that was something you find extremely dull, tedious, and absolutely mind-numbing.
I pampered my hooman by watching her favourite home improvement series on Netflix. I don’t know why we have to watch other people’s houses being renovated and be happy for them. Yet, I persevered, meowing my involvement in the show. 😼😼
As they say, we can save relationships by making small efforts without breaking the bank. I don’t believe in materialistic gifting, as it makes love very transactional.
I always soothe my hooman’s worries away with my presence, make her feel special by purring, and never let her feel alone with my unending demands — a perfect recipe for a successful relationship. 😻
Before I hang my cap on the hook, I would like to say, let the love blossom around you with positivity, kindness, and purity. Don’t let the world malign this emotion with frivolous things such as jealousy, bitterness, and insecurity. 😻😻
Paw-goodbye for now. 😻😻 Thank you for sending wishes on my eleventh birthday. Being so young is such a pleasure. Life couldn’t be better for me; your presence is the icing on the cake. ❤️😻❤️
