Embracing Individuality: Feeling Free Writers and the Influence of Others
Is today a black day for you? Are you searching for a topic to write about and need help finding it? Look within yourself.

As writers, many of our difficulties stem from the fact that we are moving away from our uniqueness.
We often need to realize this because we are too focused on conforming to others. Each of us has a particular way of being in the world that is unique and different from anyone else’s.
If we move away from our authentic nature, we cannot feel fulfilled.
Each of us has a personal destiny to follow, written on the deepest side of our personality.
Often, our problems stem from forgetting that there is no one else in the world like us.
Martin Buber says: “The person moved by desire can achieve perfection only by following their nature, not others. Those who grasp the companion’s step and let go of their own will achieve neither this nor that.”
When we find ourselves in difficulty, we often feel trapped without a way out.
We forget that deep within us, there is a profound capacity for self-healing, which is activated when we stop following the conventions of others and rely on ourselves, understanding that there are always therapeutic resources available to us.
Sometimes, we may think we will never fully heal, but we forget that it is our mental attitude that keeps the disorders alive.
Can writing be therapeutic?
Indeed, we let ourselves be guided by our feelings rather than focusing too much on readers’ attention.
The Medium Stat tool often captures my attention. The temptation is to follow others’ judgment rather than listen to our inner voice.
Let’s look at the great painter Vermeer (who doesn’t remember “Girl with a Pearl Earring”?). This painter loved to paint the every day, the quiet moment.
The light in his paintings highlights the simple and magical act that makes existence sacred, such as sewing, writing a letter, and playing an instrument.
Small things can illuminate the world and change our lives every day as long as we remain present to ourselves and fully immersed in the gesture.
How can we remain authentic and detach ourselves from the opinions of readers? How do we stay calm when an article doesn’t receive many views?
