Embrace This & Reduce Stress
5 easy ways to start today
Are you ready to embrace the unknown? With the continued uncertainty how can we learn to adapt and accept what is happening in our lives — and our world?
There’s always been uncertainty, it’s just been heightened over the last few years. The negativity and the fear living with some — if not all of us on what seems like a daily basis.
The thing is — life will happen. The pain we feel, the struggles we face come from us thinking that what is happening shouldn’t be.
I share this with you and I have to embrace this myself. It’s easy to talk, not as easy to walk.
So let’s start together, one step at a time…
The first step is a change in perspective. A NEW view on whatever you (we) are facing. Open our minds to a bigger picture and move forward knowing that everything is happening for a reason.
That brings me some solace — how about you? That life is happening ‘for’ and not ‘to’ us.
One thing that is certain is that unpredictable situations will arise…
Let’s explore some ways to shift from resisting to embracing the unknown from the site happiness com. I’ve used their ‘headers’ and have added my thoughts:
1. Realize that everything is impermanent: Nothing stays the same, though we hope that the good things will. Some of us are afraid that the other shoe will drop. If you think back, none of us have been 100% sure about how things unfold. Accepting this can help you to feel more peaceful as you face the unknown.
2. Letting go of attachment is beneficial: Clinging to people, things, circumstances can cause suffering. The attachment has a dark side that surfaces when you convince yourself you can’t go on without it. Surrender allows flowing into your life. As the saying goes: Go with the flow.
3. Every NEW path and experience means growth: When we start something NEW, it’s a learning process. As we learn- we grow. Many have shared how through the difficulties of life, they have found the blessings. They grew. I’ve heard people share how a cancer diagnosis turned into living a healthier life.
4. Surviving the unknown makes you stronger: As the saying goes: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Allow this time to be viewed as an opportunity to survive and gain strength. To become wiser and tougher from it.
5. There is always one thing you can control — your reactions: As I have shared many times — it’s changing those old reactions into NEW responses. That’s the only thing we ever truly have control over — ourselves.
6. The unknown can make life exciting: It’s said that the past is history and the future is a mystery — yet we want to know how everything unfolds — and do our best to control it… What if what happens is better than we could have planned? The silver lining in the storm clouds of our lives.
Have you ever had a situation unfold that appeared to be unwelcome and you found that you met someone or went on some kind of journey that led you to just what you needed?
You can’t always get what you want — you get what you need… As the Rolling Stones sing in my head. Could life and these times that we don’t want to deal with any longer actually be giving us what we ultimately need?
As a spin on circumstances, Americans are known to be unhealthy. We live a fast-paced life, eat unhealthily, are generally overweight, numb ourselves, push ourselves, beat ourselves up, and turn to medications to band-aid our ailments.
And then a virus with variants enters our lives starting with a lockdown that forces many of us to slow down. Our health is at risk and many of us start to learn to live in a healthier manner to keep ourselves safe.
Many of us are looking for answers to help us manage our stress levels, get more rest, and make healthier food choices.
Conventional medicine is starting to realize that the unhealthy are at a higher risk as they learn how to be of service from a more functional medicine view.
And the problem with this is?? (insert a big smile :)
In this time when our health is at risk, what if it’s bringing us to our healthiest self?
An empowering change in perspective — is it not?!
Now, this might be unrealistic as a whole, that said, it could be really doable for you. You have the power within you to take this time and make it most beneficial for you.
Let’s start today!
What’s one thing you can do that helps you become your healthiest self? Change a food choice, cut down, or cut out something that’s not serving your body.
Deep breath, meditate, get some rest to help bring control to stress levels — help yourself instead of hinder yourself.
Embrace yourself, understand yourself, give yourself a break. Realize you are always doing the best that you can given your condition and circumstances and that there is always room to improve and grow.
Stop telling that same story about your life and start creating a NEW story of your life.
The power is within you — tap in and open it up. I believe in you! Will you believe in you…
