The benefits of taking your chance, whatever others might say

I think the best thing that happened to me was when I thought “Why not”.

There is always someone to tell you what you can’t do, what you cannot accomplish. But what if you ignore them?

Why would I not take this path? Why would I not try this? Who are you to tell me that I can’t?

Of course, you should listen to bits of advice, but that’s all they are. Advice. From someone who is not you, that do not know you as much as you know yourself. And maybe that doesn’t know much about what he is talking about!

So they can give you their point of view, and elements that might help you choose a path, but it should never be your only compass.

And that’s because people's worst fear can very often be summarized by one word, “unknown”.

“Wow, are you not afraid of this ?”

“Oh, I would never try that”

“But what if this happens ?”

Yes, what if? I don’t know, and you don’t either, but should it stop me from trying?

As the Latins said, “Fortune favors the bold”. And fortune can be a lot of different things, ranging from luck to fate, or chance. But if you don’t dare try, then how would you get those?

Be the master of your own luck, and try something new. You’ll live a new experience, and will likely grow from it.

Latins also used “fortune favors the prepared mind”. Because you should be prepared, and know that you will have to face difficulties. You cannot hope to get everything given to you, just because you try.

But if you are prepared, you will be able to get it for yourself when you see a chance.

Now that's not because some old guys hundreds and hundreds of years ago said something that you will for sure have a revelation or an exceptional result, but would it hurt to try?
