That can happen even after proofreading and editing

You may find mistakes in your writing

Although anyone who is writing and publishing attempts to submit a “perfect” piece as much as possible, mistakes may be missed and not corrected. Everyone knows that editing is important, but sometimes errors or typos are not caught. Even editors may occasionally let them pass through to publication.

You might go back for some reason to read something you wrote previously. Although it was published, you could find that there was a mistake which was allowed to be published. Even with reading it over multiple times and trying to do a good job with editing, mistakes may sometimes be missed.

It might be embarrassing and make you feel ashamed to think that you did not catch the error. You might regret that you had not done a better job of proofreading.

Although it is not something that you want to happen, it is not something about which to fret. Change it and correct it if you can. If not, just move on without stewing over the past.

Time waits for no one. The past is gone forever. Sometimes mistakes of the past may be fixed, but often they may not be changed.

Even when we think we have submitted as perfect a piece as we can get, we may later find that we let an error pass through without catching it.

Just try to do better next time. There may still be occasions where mistakes are made and not corrected. People are human. Mistakes will always be part of life.
