The web content describes the public feud between Elon Musk and Bill Gates, primarily centered around Gates' alleged $2 billion Tesla stock short position and Musk's accusations of Gates funding critics.
Abstract
The article details the escalating tension between tech billionaires Elon Musk and Bill Gates. It highlights Musk's accusation that Gates has taken a significant short position on Tesla stock, potentially worth $2 billion, and suggests that Gates may be funding critics of Musk. The feud has played out publicly on social media, with Musk using Twitter to express his discontent and to share information about Gates' actions. The article also touches on the potential implications of Musk's acquisition of Twitter and speculates on the personal motivations behind the conflict, including Musk's desire for recognition and Gates' investment strategies. Despite the animosity, the article notes that both figures have contributed significantly to addressing climate change and suggests that a collaboration between them could be beneficial for global issues.
Opinions
The author implies that Musk's public persona and Twitter usage are strategic, possibly seeking validation and influence.
There is a suggestion that Musk's actions are driven by a desire to be acknowledged by tech titans and to inherit the position of the tech world's darling, previously held by figures like Steve Jobs.
The article questions the credibility of the Breitbart exclusive claiming Gates funded a dark money fund against Musk, highlighting Breitbart's history of spreading fake news.
Musk's tweets and public statements are interpreted as personal attacks against Gates, with the author noting the use of inflammatory language and the mobilization of Musk's Twitter followers.
The author points out that Gates' public downplaying of the feud and praise for Musk's work with Tesla contrast with the alleged behind-the-scenes actions, indicating a complex relationship between the two.
The article concludes with a reflection on the potential for collaboration between Musk and Gates, despite their clashing egos, to contribute positively to global challenges such as climate change.
MUSK VS GATES
Elon Musk Bitter Feud With Bill Gates Over $2 Billion Tesla Stock Shorting
The feud is real and it can even get nastier as new reports say thatBill Gates poured millions into a dark money fund attacking Elon Musk.No doubt when big egos collide expect no one to concede. Instead, they will double down on their attacks, but in the end, there can only be one winner.
Who will it be, will it be Elon Musk or Bill Gates? I would love to see your vote in the comment section.
How did the two billionaires end up as bitter enemies? They aren’t competitors. Bill Gates has long been ‘retired’ and his focus is on solving the world’s biggest problems including climate change or visiting Jeff Epstein when the sex offender was still alive.
It was the first time that Musk called Gates, ‘underwhelming’ in public.
Now that I’m writing these words, could it be that Musk has some unresolved ‘daddy issues?’
Errol Musk, Elon’s dad is not a pleasant man to be around according to this story.
It could be, that he wants to be recognized for his achievements by Tech Titans like Bill Gates, and by Steve Jobs if he was alive. He would try to take Jobs too if the tech legend would ‘ignore’ him, like what Gates appears to be doing to Elon.
And when Steve Jobs was alive nobody can come close to him being the darling of the tech world. A position now Elon may feel to have inherited, just look at how he goes on Twitter and ‘appears to be looking for affirmation’ from his 96.6 million followers.
You will be surprised that he tweets almost daily. And while he says the reason for him buying the social network for $44 billion is to protect free speech, IMHO it could be that Twitter gives him the dopamine he needs to be at the top of his game.
Because he may think for the first time in history, the world’s richest man (him) is also the most beloved, neither Gates nor Jobs was able to claim both titles.
The Big Short
Remember the movie? If you haven’t seen it, you better watch it to understand the concept of ‘shorting.’
And that Gates is betting that the stock would go under, because that is how an investor makes money from short selling a stock, when the stock tanks, or in other words, ‘fail.’
How the public learned about it is where Musk’s social media savvy skills come into play, from the very few Twitter accounts that he follows, he retweets this explosive exposé.
So apparently Bill Gates hit up @elonmusk to discuss “philanthropy on climate change” but Elon asked if he still had a halfbilliondollar short position on $TSLA. Bill said he hasn’t closed it out, so Elon told him to get lost. No idea if this is true lol — Twitter
Soon Bill Gates become a trending topic (again), and Musk doesn’t need to lift a finger.
It only takes a single tweet to start a fight. Musk compared the 66-year-old Gates to a pregnant man emoji, and his army of Twitter supporters went into attack mode.
To this day, even Gates can’t fully explain why he is short-selling Tesla, all that he claims is that it is an investment strategy, and it’s nothing personal.
EXCLUSIVE: Bill Gates poured millions into Dark Money Fund attacking Elon Musk — Breibart
The problem is that it comes from Breibart which as everyone know is a far-right website that in the past has been known to spread fake news including attacks on Barack Obama and women.
Why is Musk even sharing the story? It only proves to his critics that once his Twitter buyout is finalized, the social media platform will be radicalized by the far-right agenda.
Research exclusively shared with Breitbart News identifies hundreds of millions of dollars flowing from Bill Gates’ foundation to 11 of the 26 organizations that signed an open letter last month urging Twitter advertisers to boycott the company if Elon Musk restores free speech on the platform. — Excerpt, Breibart Exclusive.
I haven’t seen any story that can confirm the Breiart exclusive from sources that are far more credible than Breibart. — Author’s note.
On Twitter, Elon Musk answered with a ‘Sigh’ which later on escalated to ‘What a di*k move!’A tweet that has since been widely shared and some call Bill Gates evil.
Final words
While Musk appears to be winning on Twitter, is Gates bothered at all? Every time Elon tweets about him, it gives him free publicity which can even help him sell more of his new book, How to Prevent the Next Pandemic.
Gates at every opportunity downplays their feud. He would even praise Musk for all the things he had done with Tesla.
And yet Gates would dish him out in public, call it a subtle jab by also casting doubt as to the future of Twitter once the social media platform becomes Musk’s property.
“I don’t think whether one is short or long on Tesla is a statement about your seriousness about climate change. I’m putting billions of dollars into climate change innovation. I applaud Tesla’s role in helping with climate change,” Gates said.
Only time can tell if they will ever work together, with their money a lot of good can come out, and saving the planet could be one of them.
But both guys have big egos, and this reminds me of another feud, the one between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.
It never ended.
