ELEMENTALS
Prompt: Time + Place + Love + Death
I begin with Death, the undeniable, honored by the ancients with feathers and blood and bone and stone. They wrote poems of immortality and adventure in Books of the Dead.
And then there is Love, creative in passion and transcendent in belief. Soft as water, hard as granite, permeating as air, the warmth and destruction of fire. Inspiration for living.
Place - where Being begins. In the midst of nature or on the open road, back alleys at night or bustling streets. The center of the universe inside and beyond the chaos.
Moment to moment, cradle to grave, before and on to infinity. Time- it holds all the unremembered, the misremembered, even the silent tree falling in the forest. Too fast, too slow, the symbolic ticks of an imaginary clock that we choose as the measure of our unique music and dance.
Time + Place + Love + Death primary ‘colors’ mixed in a pallet of poetry to describe an Art.
