Ella’s fingers brushed the ancient oak, feeling its sorrow. “It’s dying,” she murmured, her green eyes clouded with distress.
Cade stood beside her, “Then we’ll save it,” he declared, his voice a thunderclap of resolve.
Holding hands, they combined her earthy calm with his explosive energy. As their powers mingled, the oak’s leaves fluttered to life.
“We did it,” Cade whispered, a rare smile breaking like dawn. Ella leaned into him, her heart echoing his sentiment.
Together, they were a force of nature, a bond formed by love.
At that moment, Ella realised holding Cade’s hand was like holding hope.
