Recently a FromSoft dataminer named Sekiro Dubi, shared some Elden Ring game files which seem to suggest an upcoming planned DLC.
Although don’t get your hopes up, since this idea of a DLC is just a theory by Dubi.
Dubi’s theory is based on various in-game assigned number. Apparently, whenever loot drops from a boss killed by the player, that loot is assigned a certain number.
This number is evidently different for every piece of loot from various bosses. In Dubi’s post above, each one of these bosses is allocated an ID number. With the first boss in this image starting at 9100 and the last one at 9184.
ID numbers 9100–9135 are tied to major bosses, while ID numbers 9180–9184 are tied to minor bosses. Interesting if you look closely, you’ll notice some ID numbers are missing from the sequence.
Dubi suggests that ID numbers 9140–9169 are unused since they are most likely being reserved for additional bosses which may be introduced in a DLC.
Dubi made this post after Elden Ring’s 1.07 update was released, but apparently these ID numbers have been in this reserved state ever since the games release near the beginning of this year.
These 30 reserved ID numbers may have gotten a few of you very excited, but unfortunately this doesn't necessarily suggest 30 new bosses. Dubi stated the following.
“It’s not a hard cap, they can literally add similar flags like these wherever they please … They just reserved 30 flag IDs for DLC boss stuff, they could also add bosses that don’t require those flags.”
Personally I do believe Dubi’s evidence suggests an upcoming DLC or expansion for the game. But do keep in mind that this is not concrete evidence.
This information doesn't necessarily suggest additional upcoming content. But I really hope it does.
