Ego Says We Go
A poem on suplexing the ego into submission… Or maybe cooperation (Day 3: Altruism & a wounded ego)

Ego
Says we go
And we flow and flow and flow
In constant continuance
No time to influence
Or just stop
Drop
And roll
Let the fire of your soul
Overtake ego’s stronghold
Lock it with a blindfold
And let your true self shine
Let the ego unwind
See what’s underneath
Just breathe
Let it be
Maybe you’ll find
A being that’s divine
Inclined
To help, support, empower
Others in the golden hour
For you’ve been there, so you know
How hard it is to let go
To grow
Up and out from the egoic perspective
But once you do, it flows, connective
Nothing but Love for the collective
And it’s gratifying beyond belief
More than fixation on the self could ever be
