Efficacious
A poem of gratitude
We rise and fall and that’s not all, we dip and dive and bend, some stand tall others fall, till the very end.
The sounds of psalms are soothing, and salve the savage soul, wrinkles there for the smoothing, efficacy that keeps us whole.
Summer clouds rise from the horizon, tears from heaven fall from a sanguine sky, mountains in the west are calling, me to a recluse on the hills up high.
Effective and efficacious, a beneficial and advantageous result, a beautiful way of being gracious, in the moment I’m engulfed.
Sand in my eyes from the sunset, a crimson ball descends in the west, memories too fresh to forget, knowing that I’m truly blessed.
Pieces of pain are forgotten, a scar that has near disappeared, back to where I was begotten, something feared is now revered.
Proud of the feats of kindred, their beauty and strength take my breath away, efficacy has calmed troubled waters, with the passing of every day.
And so, I soar with gratitude, through the night and out of sight, and in the dawn, tired and worn, homeward bound from life’s long flight.
