1. Provide Context
Without Context:
- Question: “What is ‘Java’?”
ChatGPT might generate a general response, potentially about the programming language or the island of Java. If you want a relevant answer, you will have to be more specific.
With Context:
- Question with context: “Explain the significance of ‘Java’ in computer programming.”
When you provide context, the model can understand and deliver a response specifically tailored.
ChatGPT will be able to provide a more focused and accurate response with the help of the context provided.
2. Be Specific
Wife: “Honey, could you please go to the store and buy a carton of milk? And if they have avocados, get six.”
The husband returns with six cartons of milk.
Wife: “Why did you buy six cartons of milk?”
Husband: “Because they had avocados!”
I am sure husbands are much better, but ChatGPT will behave in the same manner as described above without specificity.
Without Specific Prompt:
- Generic Prompt: “Explain the term ‘Machine Learning’.”
In the absence of specific details, the model might provide a broad definition or an overview of machine learning in general.
With Specific Prompt:
- Specific Prompt: “Discuss the practical applications of ‘Machine Learning’ in healthcare.”
By providing specificity such as “practical applications in healthcare”, the model tailors the response to discuss how machine learning is specifically utilized in the healthcare industry.
3. Build on the conversation
Friend 1: “I’m reading a book on anti-gravity. It’s impossible to put down!”
Friend 2: “That sounds interesting! I’m reading a book on time travel. It’s a page-turner, but I already know how it ends!”
ChatGPT can build on a conversation. It can dynamically continue a conversation, incorporating user input and prompting for more details, making the interaction more engaging and personalized.
An example of how Generative AI can build up a conversation:
User: “I love baking cookies, especially chocolate chip cookies!”
ChatGPT: “Chocolate chip cookies are delicious! Have you tried adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top? It enhances the flavor. What’s your favorite recipe for chocolate chip cookies?”
