Abstract

The webpage titled "Educational Websites that Stimulate Learning" offers a comprehensive list of online educational resources to assist parents and educators in finding quality learning materials for children during school closures. The resources are categorized by subject and age appropriateness, with an emphasis on free content. The author advises against overwhelming children with too many options and notes that while some sites offer paid subscriptions, the list only includes those with free educational value. The sites cover a range of subjects including math, reading, science, social studies, writing, and a variety of topics suitable for both elementary and secondary students. The author encourages readers to subscribe to their blog for more resources and updates, indicating that the blog is a source of satisfaction and does not generate monetary support for the author.

Opinions

  • The author believes in the value of providing a balance between screen time and other activities, acknowledging the need for adults to have time for themselves.
  • There is a cautionary note about the potential for overstimulation if children are presented with too many online options.
  • The author prioritizes free educational resources, suggesting a commitment to accessibility and inclusivity in learning.
  • The author seeks validation and satisfaction from the utility of their blog to readers, as indicated by the request for subscriptions without monetary benefit.
  • The author implies that quality and interest level of the educational content are more important than quantity, suggesting that readers should explore sites that resonate with their child's interests and learning level.

Educational Websites that Stimulate Learning

Activities to Stimulate Learning When Schools Close

Most of the articles I post try to reduce screen time; however, realistically adults need time to work, relax, and simply breathe.

Below is a HUGE list of valuable sites. They are divided into two categories, elementary and secondary, but some overlap and depending on the maturity and skill level of the child you may want to explore both.

Caution 1: This is an extensive list so do not be overwhelmed and try to access all of them. Just find a site that looks interesting and explore it. Providing children too many options can be overstimulating.

Caution 2: Some of the sites offer a subscription that costs money but it is not necessary. I have only included sites that offer some educational value for free.

If you are finding resources that are valuable, please subscribe to my blog. I do not receive any monetary support from subscriptions just a feeling of satisfaction that the posts are read and and useful. https://iammybest.org/subscribe
