Education as a Beacon of Hope
30-Day Gratitude Challenge
It is a deluge here with thunderstorms at this time of the evening and may continue. It is always pleasant when it rains sans the thunderstorms — For me, at least.
At some point in the day, I was just reflecting on a few things, education being one of them. What if I hadn’t gotten the opportunities? Life would have been very difficult. Starting from school to acquiring degrees, having a career, and further learnings — all this while facing financial challenges; it has been an amazing life, I say now perhaps because I stand at a place of success. Earlier, I would just wonder at all the difficult situations life was throwing at us. Having said that, as an educated person, you develop this fluency in your languages, you develop good etiquette, you can differentiate between right and wrong, you can educate others, and most importantly, you learn to value yourself because you have gone through those challenges early on in life. I can never forget my parents’ struggles to get us educated; then, other people positively contributed to my success — I am grateful to all of them. Even people who did not like me, have contributed to my success. The bitterness will be lurking somewhere in my psyche, but I am grateful to them as well, for they unknowingly egged me on to find the success I wanted.
Education is indeed a beacon of hope and like mine, I hope and pray it lights up many others’ lives.
