Self-Editing Tip #1: Bios Can Be Fun!
Or not. But they’re still important.
I love editing.
My mission is to make your story the best, clearest, and as relatable as it can be. So If I seem picky, that’s why.
I also do my best to be as gentle and as encouraging as possible.
That’s a given.
I’m writing tips about the most common notes I give folks. In the hope of saving us both time.
That being said, the most common note I give our writers is please add your bio at the bottom of your post. After separating it with three dots.
What should go in your bio?
According to this helpful post from Medium, three things:
- Who you are
- What you write about
- Where else we can find you
Short and sweet–three sentences — is fine.
Start with your name linked to your Medium profile, and talk about yourself in the third person.
