Thank you for welcoming me as an Illumination Editor

The teacher is always the student: being an editor is no different. As an editor for the past four years, my writing significantly improved simply by analyzing and helping other writers be successful. That is why it is an honor to work as an editor for Illumination and Illumination-Curated.

I am a writer that is willing to take risks, be vulnerable, and dare to write about subjects that breach the line of appropriateness. I can be no one else. As an academic researcher by trade, I joined Illumination immediately after Dr. Yildiz invited me because I believe in his vision.

By submitting several stories, I learned that I was not alone on the Medium platform any longer. The writers, editors, and readers of Illumination create an atmosphere that entertains solidarity rather than competition. And the reflection of that solidarity instantaneously shines as editors congratulate and promote each writer.

This is why my allegiance will always be to Illumination first.

I am a professional writer and an owner of a writing consultant business called CM Writing Consultant as well as a Writing Specialist for secondary education. Linguistics and the power of words fascinate me. Throughout the years, I realized that every sentence must act as a hook to hold the reader’s attention. Therefore, I do not waste time with unnecessary word choice and excessive tautology.

I am eccentric in nature, but one must possess a little madness to be a writer. There is a fine line between madness and genius. Please join me as we walk the tightrope between those worlds and create life through the written word.
