Easy Ways to Meditate For People That Hate the Traditional Method
Meditation is for everyone and can actually be fun.
Sitting in one place for a long period of time is definitely not for everyone, especially people who have aches and pain like arthritis or people who just can’t sit still. If you are one of those people then that’s totally fine because that’s not the only way you can get your daily meditation in and raise your vibrations. Here are some different things you can try as an alternative to the traditional method of meditation — and yes, they are just as effective!
Listen To Music
Set the mood you're going for, listen to your favorite song, and start visualizing things in your head. For example, if you’re trying to manifest love, put on a love song and visualize you and your ideal partner slow dancing to the song. Meditation is not only about clearing your mind, in fact, it can also also be about filling your head with the things you want to attract so feel free to visualize anything and everything you desire while having a big fat smile on your face!
Do Your Skincare Routine/Makeup
This is one of my favorites. It took me a while to actually come up with a skincare routine and stick to it but once I did, boy was it relaxing. Massaging products on your face, feeling the cooling sensation of your creams and serums, looking at the glow on your face after, it’s just all so calming to me. Even when doing your makeup, focus on getting your eyeliner perfect and your lipstick right inside of your lip lines. You’ll realize you get so lost in the moment that it becomes relaxing. When you get caught up doing something that actually interests you, you forget all of your worries and you’re able to just chill and take a moment for yourself. Self-care is the best form of meditation in my opinion.
Get Involved With The Arts
Whether it be drawing, painting, singing, dancing, or acting, allowing your creative side to be free is one of the best things you can do for your soul. We all come onto this planet with a purpose, some are more creative than others but regardless, we all have the ability to create greatness through our artistic vision. I’m not the best singer but singing in the shower is a moment that I take for myself to just let my emotions free. Even if you aren’t the best dancer, jump around a little and throw your limbs around, I promise you’ll feel great afterward. Expressing your creativity is a great way to raise your vibrations because you’re creating something from nothing which is always a very fulfilling feeling in the end.
Go For A Drive
I’ll admit driving is not the most relaxing thing in the world to me because I’m so focused on checking all my mirrors and making sure I don’t break the law that I’m anything but calm. However, I have this specific road I go to whenever I feel like I need to escape and it allows me to feel at peace. It’s a completely straight lonely road, which sounds scary but it’s the exact opposite. The sidewalks are covered in cherry blossom trees and driving through this road during the spring puts me in my feels. If you’re into driving, find a peaceful place and go for a safe little drive. Once you find the right place, it’ll be worth it.
Enjoy Nature
This is a severely underrated experience. Go outside on a warm day and just look at what surrounds you. Don’t say anything, don’t do anything, just watch and listen. Watch the trees waving their branches at you and listen to the rustling of the leaves. Feel the sunlight shine its beautiful rays onto you. It’s such a serene feeling to be able to connect with nature considering we ourselves are part of nature. You’ll feel at home and at peace. Nature is a blessing, enjoy it whenever you can.
Stare Into A Mirror
If you’re someone that’s really into out-of-body experiences, try this. Turn off the lights, light some candles, and sit right in front of a mirror staring into your eyes. After a couple of minutes, you might see things in your peripheral vision and you realize you don’t look the way you think you do. I tried this type of meditation for a month straight and it sent me into a slight existential crisis, but also taught me to love myself because I’m more than what meets the eye. I can’t guarantee the results of this as they’re going to be different for every person however, I can say this will raise some thought-provoking questions about life.
Travel
Travelling is one of the best ways to take a break. There’s no better feeling than hopping on a plane and envisioning the relaxation that’s awaiting you. Honestly, I find the best part of traveling is actually the journey to get there rather than what happens when you actually arrive. There’s just something about booking your flight and making reservations at your hotel that makes me so excited and raises my vibrations to the max! If you have the means to travel, do it! Just make sure you’re traveling because you need a well-deserved break and not because you’re trying to run from your problems.
Hang Out With Friends And Family
This is not going to work for everyone because I know for me personally, I get drained when I’m around too many people. However, if you’re more of a social butterfly, hang out with your friends and visit your family. Talking to other people and just enjoying each other's company is a great way to raise your vibrations because you’re able to forget your bad day and laugh with the people you love.
If you couldn’t tell by now, the theme here is to get your mind off of your worries. This means you can do literally anything you truly love doing that consumes your mind. The list can go on and on so if your meditation is getting boring, spice it up and try something else you love doing. Anyone and everyone is capable of meditating!
