“Easy Passive Income” Hustlers Drive Me Bonkers
I’m sure you’ve seen them — the “Write an Ebook in 24 hours with Chat GPT” crowd

I recently stumbled upon a YouTube video that promised to unveil the secret to easy passive income through creating an entire Ebook in just 24 hours using nothing but ChatGPT and Canva. The title alone was enough to make me cringe, but what I found was far from even remotely insightful explanations. Instead, I was met with a guide that not only oversimplified the creative process but also seemed to undermine the value of original content.
The premise of the video was straightforward yet audacious: pick a topic, any topic, use AI to churn out content, and voila, you’re on your way to making $5,000 by Christmas. The content creator emphasized that the most challenging part was simply choosing a topic that would resonate with an audience. This claim alone raised a red flag for me. The idea that an AI-generated ebook, assembled in less than a day, could provide genuine value to readers is questionable at best.
What’s particularly troubling is the lack of acknowledgment of where the real value lies. If an ebook is written by ChatGPT, it’s the AI that’s providing the content, not the person packaging it. And when something is slapped together in such a short timeframe, one has to wonder about the depth and originality of the material. True value creation involves bringing something new and meaningful into the world, not just repackaging information.
She is certainly not providing any value here. AI likely isn’t saying anything new, so even if it does provide someone, some semblance of value, the worth of that value is minimal.
Digging deeper, it became apparent that the real moneymaker for the creator wasn’t the ebook on quick riches but rather a series of overpriced guides, including a “Roadmap to Riches” priced at a disgusting $497 USD. It seems the bulk of the income comes from teaching others how to exploit this very process, creating a cycle of low-quality content generation.
The video, which has amassed over 60,000 views, seems to be part of a larger trend of digital grifters exploiting the allure of quick and easy success. With more than a dozen ebooks listed in her video description, there was something for everyone… or so she thinks. For $44, you can even learn about “Manifesting Financial Abundance,” likely filled with more tips on leveraging AI to do work for you, and pretending you’re the creator. This approach not only devalues the concept of earning through genuine effort and skill but also preys on those looking for a quick fix to their financial aspirations. The latter is what pisses me off the most.
These types of grifters reinforce my skepticism towards the flood of “Ebooks” that claim to offer groundbreaking insights. The reality is that many of these are nothing more than hastily compiled content, dressed up to lure in unsuspecting buyers. The notion that one could create a valuable, insightful ebook in just 24 hours is laughable. Heck, some of us struggle to jot down a simple shopping list in that time frame! (Perhaps that can be her next ebook title)
So, before you get swayed by the promise of easy money and passive income through rapid ebook creation, remember that true value takes time, effort, and originality. Don’t let the glitter of get-rich-quick schemes blind you to the hard work and authenticity that underpin genuine success. Don’t become a grifter. And also, don’t give money to grifters. There a millions of free resources online for everything that people like her sell.
Let’s strive for a digital landscape where quality matters and real insights are valued over quick cash grabs.
End Rant.
