Let today be easy. Let the sun slide through the window and light my skirt’s hem. Let the warm wind caress my skin under the sun’s folds and take me in, deep to comfort’s arms.

Let today be simple, free from the sound of harsh voices and splinters that rasp. Let calm sail inside to greet me, and let the kindness kept for family spread to strangers’ doors.

Let my mind be empty, free from toil and worry’s creases. Let the stillness sink into my bones to permeate each cell until I am at peace.

Let today be easy.
