Easy and Fun Ways to Spice Your Day Up

Life doesn't have to be so serious all the time

I’m tired of hearing the same life pieces of advice and routines we should implement in our lives.

The waking up at 5 am

The no carbs diet

The workout routines in fasting

The meditations for 1 hour every day

These sound too difficult. And although it might work for some, most of us will ditch these habits, probably in less time than we think. It amazes me to see for how long we can look up to other people trying to copy everything they do without making our own rules and creating our instructions on living our best life. Sure, we can grab some ideas from successful people, but in reality, many of us feel like a failure if any of those successful people’s habits don’t work. What works for you might not work for me, and vice versa. We are constantly bombarded with the idea that we should do “more,” but as Tim Denning writes in his articles, the less we do, the easier and more momentum we have for our productive times.

It doesn’t have to be so serious all the time; Instead, why don’t we give ourselves a boost in mental health in a more fun way?

By for example:

Watching an episode of Kevin Hart’s comedy show

Playing your favorite song and dancing alone in your room

Talking to a stranger in the street

Calling a friend unexpectedly

Making your morning coffee differently (iced, with milk, black)

Going for a walk and taking a different route

Complimenting yourself in the mirror

Taking the garbage out

Putting your phone in the plane mode for at least an hour and stay in silence

Reading your favorite cliche phrase.

Reading your horoscope for the day, just for the fun of doing it

Hugging a tree (yes, it helps to feel happier in the day)

If you don’t know how to have fun in your day while still reaching your goals, you will end up burnout. What we need is balance in our life.

But many of us think if we get the balance, we will fall off the rails. Yet mastering life is mastering balance. Balance is knowing not everything is black or white. Balance means you accept the fact that you might be wrong, and that’s ok. Balance means laughing while working hard on your dreams. Balance also means you trust yourself to make the right decisions while still having a bit of fun. Balance is the willingness to wait and have faith that life is working for you.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and your dream life will probably take longer than you think, and there might never be an end. But just a point when you will say to yourself, “I have enough.”

Let’s enjoy the ride to our unknown desired destinations.
