Earth Laughs In Flowers

November Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Collecting Smiles”

Gardener nurtures, flowers bloom, heart smiles

We were returning from visiting a friend. It was a thirty-minute walk to the gated community's entrance as she lived at the far end of the “campus”. We were not complaining though — it is a beautiful area, fabulously maintained.

On that particular day, warm sunshine enveloped us as we strolled through the tree-lined pathways. Each tree had its own little garden at its base, and the ones that caught our eye were the tiny yellow flowers nestling amidst the green, with the smooth trunk of the tree arising from the middle. Such a pretty sight!

We saw some unusual front porch décor —and took several pictures. Loved the sight of birds flitting around amicably with the butterflies. Bonsai displays, tastefully arranged in some of the front yards. A variety of musical windchimes as melodious as they were creatively designed.

And oh, there were beautiful lanterns, too.

Some front yards had children playing and their voices were a delightful interlude to the other sounds of nature.

All in all, a very pleasant and smile-filled walk to the main gate, where we would get a cab home. My son was all smiles at the thought of making pizza for lunch.
