April 22, 2022, will be the 52nd United Nations World Earth Day. The concert by the international pianist Giovanni Allevi in streaming with artists from all over the world, the “Call4Earth” initiative as a call to young people to carry out projects in defense of the Planet, and the “Looking for Earth” artistic project are Italy’s main initiatives. Pierluigi Sassi, president of Earth Day Italia Onlus, presented them at a press conference in Milan.

CONCERT FOR THE LAND

The traditional musical event of Earth Day Italia will be hosted by the Nuvola di Fuksas in the EUR district of Rome with connections with artists from all over the world. The world-famous composer Giovanni Allevi, the artistic director, once again wanted to dedicate the concert to the new generations in view of the 27th UN Climate Conference which this year will be held in Egypt from 7 to 18 November in the splendid naturalistic paradise of Sharm el-Sheikh.

The Maestro will touch the hearts of thousands of young people with his splendid music and will call other artists from different parts of the planet to offer their testimony in defense of the many territories that are now seriously endangered by a predatory economy that threatens to steal their future from young people.

CALL4EARTH

All young Italians are invited to present projects that can make a difference: they can be high school children, entire classes, university students, and aspiring startuppers.

Through a commission of experts, the most beautiful projects will be chosen, feasibility studies will be carried out and then some will be financed, which will be presented at Cop 27 in Sharm El-Sheikh.

MAKE IT CLEAR.

“Fate Chiasso — Hippogriff’s Notes” edited by the very young Ludovica Sassi and Lucrezia Tuccillo is a notebook that wants to actively sensitize young people; it includes the dreams, wishes, and hopes of entire generations to preserve the planet and has already been shown to Pope Francis as well.

The slogan “Make a noise” was born precisely from an incitement by Bergoglio and became the title of the volume.

100% of the proceeds from the book will support the missions in the Amazon of the Capuchin Friars, in defense of indigenous peoples, and the birth of a sustainable forest in the millenary Municipality of Tuscania. Maupal, one of the 30 most influential street artists in the world, often portrays the Pope, and this time he edited the cover of the charity book.

LOOKING FOR EARTH.

The Milanese factory Looking For Art, dedicated to spreading contemporary art with an ethical and sustainable approach, represents 120 contemporary art artists (painting, sculpture, photography) under the age of 35 and has selected 3 works from its extensive repertoire representative of each of the 17 Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

These works will be used by Earth Day to communicate activities related to Earth Day 2022 and will be auctioned at the end of an exhibition.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization. On the occasion of the presentation, Looking For Art donated to Maestro Allevi an exclusive work, chosen especially for him, created by the artist Angelica Cantù Rajnoldi.
