The first question piqued my interest so I summoned Mikaela, the main character who floats in and out of many of my darker supernatural stories to answer.

Definitely dystopian. I and my kind emerge from the darkness that swirls around us. We thrive on chaos. We are neither good nor evil, like humans, we are a blend of both but live by our own rules.

We feed on humanity’s emotions. If we sense you have a dark side we can drain you and discard the husk. You may think of us as vampires but if there is innocence, goodness within you we will only take what we need to feed.
