Summarize

Drugs will take your life just like it has done mine numerous times, on numerous occasions.

Never let addiction creep up , remember to be complacent!

It kills the family you once knew, but still, you will lie to those who have encountered you with- “Man are you okay?”

With courage, accountability, and accepting the facts now with the willingness to change them, let there be a power out there greater than YOU and you will be ten times more likely to succeed in anything!

I’m very grateful to be alive, The Power of Poetry for me to be honest is more powerful than any other drug, is more powerful than any kind of therapy, and is more powerful to the poet himself unless you let my past actions influence our perspective together — But first I can’t agree more with augmented man in the beauty of our feathers!

[I want you to learn as much as I did with this one]

So, with no further ado let’s stroll through the rule's:

  1. Highlight whatever stood out most.
  2. Comment
  3. Clap/share
  4. Follow

Struggling was easy compared to my most significant time — My poetry run’s wild — & it don’t cost a dime.

I was born in 1994 into this type of worldWhen a guy was a guy and a girl was a girl.

I figured stuff out, or when I went all wrong — it was the first time I ran from my feelings hitting that bong.

Some parents consider smoking pot nothing — but can we agree mind-altering anything can disfunction something.

Mind alternative substances no matter the name have one thing in common, could it be your brain?

I was using mind-altering substances to numb the feelings — That was my past, very unappealing.

My parents were out of town while I stayed home We all have a story like that & it’s very well-known.

Advised to use substances by someone else is called peer pressure. These people aren’t your friends — I want you to measure!

No addict ever wants to use drugs to use drugs alone — it’s the feelings sometimes that they feel unknown.

When I was feeling some feeling that I did not likeMy first thought was mind-altering anything, just what type?

I learned that substances will stunt your body’s growth — but one in particular that matters to us most.

In active addiction, our brains stop growingEach substance robing cells w/o you knowing.

It wasn’t until I stopped all mind-altering substances that my true feelings arose — Without digging, my trauma exploded from my head down to my toes.

I’ve done every drug, even to the crazy synthetics — Going as far as the dark web, to the mailman, to my house ,isn’t that pathetic?

Drugs led to the decisions that led me to jail — Sitting around learning criminology meant I had more time to fail.

The day I got resentenced while looking at the Judge — he told me exactly the reality of what the real situation now was.

Real help to me meant asking for treatment or even rehab but hearing NO over and over was what made me so mad.

My dad said to me “If there is anything I want you to listen to me to son-it’s right now”18 long months in a prison to get the felony expunged — but how?

I remember crying at 24 years old on the jailhouse phone saying ‘Dad, Dad, I don’t want to go’ — He had never been locked up before so how did he know?

Imagine being put in a 12×12 room with a bunch of criminals who think they are lawyers, mechanics to so much more Living with the jailers became my biggest all-time chore.

I learned to listen without talking back — I didn’t want to glorify the ways to make crack.

Jail isn’t transformational to the recovering addicts Its valuable time lost while learning bad habits.

It’s up to the dual diagnosed on what we take for medication — We have a healthier form that’s called meditation!

I’m an addict who struggles daily in recovery finding out at 26 I’m a dual-diagnostic addict wasn’t a natural discovery.

Ever since I was born, I needed to have more of the strongest stuffbut no matter how potent there wasn’t enough.

I promise you all that tolerance creates our addiction — now reading this close I pray your going to listen!

The more you use the more you want, the more you want the more you do, and the more you do the higher your rate — now addicted to injecting let’s have a debate.

It was my tolerance level that made that collision — I felt uncontrollable all the time, like I had no decision.

People all have assumed at one point in their life that they would be better off dead — that comes after you falsely accused the power in our head!

One thing I live with today is the power of forgivenessno matter the strength it takes the power of a witness.

The addict in recovery lost trust at one point in timethrough action and consistency-telling the truth won’t cost a dime.

To forgive your abuser sounds like a sinbut if you do it for your cause you may live happily again.

It’s important that we live day to day basis taking one day at a time because let’s obviously face it!

We don’t have tomorrow we only have today don’t let any wasted time slip away.

I’ve learned how to wake up in forgiveness modemy past actions made decisions that have now been told.

Passionate poets write poems for a better understandingthey write for transformational readers' outcomes, mine might still be pending.

Thank you all so much for reading my poem, I hope you enjoyed it all have a wonderful day!
