Drowning

Attaining sophrosyne is the goal and means to an end. However strong you might think you are there comes a point where you no longer have control over things. You need to remember “You can’t always be strong but you can be brave”. Because it’s not you who directly is involved in something but someone so close to you (your brother, friend, partner, etc ). And you are hit by the fanfare of epiphany that things don’t transpire as you have planned them to.

Not always will the reins be in your hand.

Those falls make you meet an uncharted persona hidden within you, you never thought you had. Those excursions might exhaust the star within you, but just hold on and don’t let the spark die.

Enduring endless amounts of patience and letting your loved one decide the course of their behaviour which might impact you in a way you never would have fathomed seems a natural course to have reins back.

But as Khaled Hosseini said, “But then it passed as all things do”.

Maybe there is a place where everything around you makes you feel happy

and people around you make you feel lucky.

Maybe there is a place where you don’t impute yourself for everything

and curse for nothing.

Maybe there is a place where you don’t hold yourself responsible

and you consider yourself able to do everything that’s possible.

Maybe there will come a time where you no longer have to be a detective

which makes your destiny feel defective.

Maybe you will learn to trust

not letting it impact your thirst.

Maybe you will absolve and love yourself

more than you ever have loved him than he himself.

Maybe there will come a time when you will love someone in a way a woman loves a man

to remind you of everything you can.

Maybe you will not drown in your thought

and give life one more shot.

Maybe there will come a time where you will envisage for all the souls that dwell within you

and that will make you feel you.

Maybe a day will rise where you won’t feel an encumbrance to do right

and do what you see at first sight.

Maybe there will come a day where you won’t make an effort to comprehend why they did what they did

and you too would learn to skid.

Your good spirit will perpetrate others in a way that will ignite the ember in them to be the better one

and make them do the things veraciously that are left undone.

Someday I hope you will be able to connect the dots

which will make you lighten your spots.

And that maybe and someday is not far from now

And that will be the time you shall truly bow!!
