Dream — A Poem
Dream your dream, don’t be afraid.
This poem is a stream-of-consciousness piece written in response to the following quote prompt shared by the Poetry Playground prompt #13 : Quote
“Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Do not be afraid.” — Frederick Buechner
Do not be afraid Fly high and touch the sky.
Dream big and dig deep. Become single-minded.
Jump over barriers Pick yourself up. Ebbs and flow is how it rolls. Don’t be afraid.
Know that you can be your friend and your foe beautiful things happen when you befriend yourself. Remind yourself daily
Drown self-doubt With a thousand affirmations For it will show its ugly head But it’s part of the game Don’t get sidetracked Stay on the course.
Rock n Roll Let your song Unfold The beauty of your life Is waiting to be told.
Your alchemist cave awaits you daily step by step consistently move forward. Learning what works and what does not.
Don’t be afraid Terrible is a perspective cry you might cry you must but once the pressure has been released Quietly, you’ll see the beauty in the terrible A hidden lesson A force of hand You might never have understood if terrible didn’t show its face right when things were glorious.
Do not be afraid Fly high and touch the sky. You can handle everything By being detached You take a pause Your clouded perspective will demist, and you’ll see again.
If all else fails Remind yourself How many ‘terrible things’ have you faced and here you still stand. The sun always rises and so will you.
