Unexpected Things to Be Grateful For

Out of the blue appreciations!

Have you ever wondered how different you are from everyone else? As Mulan mentioned in one article of hers, we may see the same things, but we have different perspectives. This lead me to reflect on this thought even more since I saw it amusing and so truthful!

And what else can be more unique than our own unexpected things we can be grateful for. So for the first Monthly Challenge, we would like you to share what are those things to you. How unique are they? Are they bizarre, incredible, and special? It can be the tiniest detail or something that can change your day completely.

If you would ask me, what comes to my mind is the numerous times my little sister speaks so properly and above her age that it’s just amazing. How about my nephew’s laugh when he has done something mischievous but we all know I just can’t get mad? Let’s not forget the neighbor’s dog that is always outside and always decides to tag along. What about that dome in my room that enables me to see random birds resting under the sun? There are so many examples!

As 2022 is beginning, we would like you to think out of the box and be…unexpected!

As you may know, there will be a monthly challenge and three picks will be featured on the Monthly Challenge page. They will be chosen by the TYN team and will be posted at the beginning of the next month. If you would like to join in on the fun and participate, don’t forget to add the tag Thank You Notes and Monthly Challenge. It can be a poem, shortform, essay, anything you’d prefer!

Note: The deadline is Saturday 29th.

We hope you have fun thinking about this challenge, writing it, and even better…reading what others are unexpectedly grateful for!

Trista Signe Ainsworth, Ellie Jacobson ✍🏻 and I are delighted to start this new section! We hope you like it! Any suggestions, advice, and comments are welcome!
