Double Standards
That’s why we are hurting each other.
Tina is an overweight girl. She has made countless excuses for not going on a diet.
I have many reasons for not driving a car, even though I have owned a driving license for years.
Oops, I just used two different words, “excuses” and “reasons,” to describe the same behavior of Tina and me.
The former is to accuse, the latter is to forgive. Accusing Tina, but forgiving myself.
Double Standards!
People get used to using double standards by evaluating. No one is an exemption.
So, don’t feel too bad when you are misunderstood because you misunderstand others too.
Are you expecting empathy? Then change yourself!
If everyone is willing to abandon their double standards, empathy would be there, and the world would be wonderful.
Pardon, you don’t use double standards?
