Don’t Wash Your Dirty Laundry in Public Like Harry and Meghan
Talk to Your Family in Private
The recent Oprah Winfrey interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is but the latest example of celebrities only too willing to divulge family secrets for public consumption.
The masses are titillated for a moment, and the family shamed. At the very least the family is thrown into turmoil.
Hurting one’s family this way benefits only those who gain financially from such senseless action.
Treat your family with respect
In my opinion, Harry and Meghan trashed the British Royal Family and were very disrespectful to Her Majesty the Queen, Harry’s 94-year-old grandmother, and his 99-year-old grandfather, Prince Phillip, who is hospitalized.
Who treats their elderly grandparents this way?
Grandparents are to be cherished and treated with love, dignity, and respect. In most cases, they are wiser and more understanding than parents.
Whatever their grievances, couldn’t it have waited until Prince Philip recovered?
Work out your difficulties in private
In my opinion, the best way to deal with family problems, no matter what they are, is to deal with them within the family.
Talk to those with whom you have issues, and work it out. If that fails, ask respected senior members of the family for help.
An aunt or uncle, older siblings or cousins, are people to consider. Grandparents are among the best.
Grandparents have seen a lot in life. Take advantage of this experience. I have fond memories of my grandparents.
If you are a churchgoer, ask an elder, or the pastor, for help.
What if nothing works? Forgive all those who have wronged you and move on. Let it go and get on with your life.
It is unhelpful to broadcast your family problems far and wide and humiliate your family who, despite the difficulties, love you.
Britain Welcomed Meghan And Celebrated Her Marriage to Harry
Britain and the Royal Family welcomed Meghan Markle with open arms. The press was full of praise and good wishes for her and Harry. Almost everyone thought it was a great match.
Prince Charles, her father-in-law, and heir to the throne spent millions of his own money for a lavish wedding for the adored couple. Charles walked Meghan down the aisle because her father was ill and in Mexico, on her wedding day.
After Harry and Meghan abandoned their official duties in Britain for the glitz, glamor, fame, and fortune of Hollywood, Charles continued to support them financially, according to news reports.
In my opinion, the Royal Family bent over backward to accommodate and assist Harry and Meghan.
They Behave Like Spoiled Children
Harry and Meghan have repaid the love, kindness, and consideration shown to them, by lashing out at their families.
The disrespect they have shown to the Royal Family, and especially to the Queen and Prince Philip, is beyond the pale.
Harry, a grown man, and a millionaire complained in the Winfrey interview that their money was cut off. What a sense of entitlement!
Meghan complained about racism. Racism — the go-to word for any hurt feelings nowadays. To accuse anyone of racism without a modicum of evidence is nasty, mean-spirited, and unacceptable.
It was their choice to leave the UK for greener pastures. They need to grow up and start taking responsibility for their decisions and actions.
They need to stop whining and pointing their fingers at others and have a good look in the mirror. That is where the problem lies.
The Majority Supports the Royal Family
Polling shows that a large majority of the British public supports the Royal Family. Polling also shows that Harry and Meghan have lost support.
Questions are now being asked about the veracity of the statements made in the Winfrey interview.
Harry and Meghan have made spurious allegations against the Royal Family. Everything that went wrong, in their opinion, is everyone else’s fault because, of course, they are perfect and have not made any mistakes. What arrogance!
Meghan has shown greater compassion for her “rescued chickens” than for Harry’s family, or hers.
Treat your family better than Harry and Meghan have. And call or go visit your grandparents, if you are lucky enough to still have them.
