You want to make a living from your writing, right? Medium seems like the ideal platform to do just that.

You join the platform (check to see if your country is listed), write your first story, hit ‘publish,’ and eagerly wait for 100 people to believe in you and your writing so much that they ‘follow’ you and your stories. Now, you can apply to join the Medium Partner Program! That’s not how it actually works though. Now, you start to consider your online presence:

Online presence has to do with your visibility on platforms, like Medium.

You will need to consider your online presence, not only on Medium, but on other platforms that may link you to Medium:

How do you want to show up on Medium?

This can be discovered through your activity on the platform.

You want to set yourself apart from other writers:

How will you do that?

My intention with writing this story is to get you to start asking yourself these questions in hopes of building an organic audience that believes in not only your writing, but YOU:

Who are you?

People will ‘follow’ you for your writing, but will ultimately stick around for YOU:

Therefore, consider your personal brand on this platform because there may be a point in your writing career when you outgrow your writing and you will need your audience to grow with you and your writing.

Here’s my referral link to get full access to Medium stories:

I receive a small commission.

If you want to support my writing, ‘follow’ my stories and consider ‘tipping.’

Thanks in advance. 🌟
