Don’t Let Covid Dictate Your Life!
How to Thrive During the Pandemic!

Life has no limitations, except the ones you make.
— Les Brown
I have to be honest with you all. I have no idea when this Pandemic will be over! It might be with us for the rest of our lives, and you know what, that’s ok. Now, this isn’t going to be one of those articles that makes outrageous statements like, “ just stay inside your home living in fear,” or “I’m gonna live my life and not wear a mask.”
However, I will tell you that it’s possible to follow science, take precautions, and still live your best life. We only have one life to live and it just so happens that this pandemic had to happen in our lifetime.
So what are we going to do about it? We really have a couple of options. There will be those who ignore the advice of the experts and do their own thing. Some will follow the advice of medical experts and get vaccinated, wear masks, social distance, etc.
I will do all of those things that are recommended by the experts while simultaneously putting an emphasis on living my life to the best of my abilities. It’s time that we find ways to adapt to our circumstances and find other ways to enjoy our lives.
But how can we do this and still follow science? By doing things that might be uncomfortable at the beginning. We will have to do things that we aren’t used to doing.
If you are currently single, I’m sure dating has been somewhat of a challenge during the pandemic. Depending on where you live, you might have had places closed that you would frequent often such as bars and clubs. There is also the chance that some people aren’t comfortable going on a date because of Covid.
Do what you can to keep your dating life active. Try online dating apps if you haven’t already done so. Maybe chatting via Zoom or Facetime is an option as well to chat with another person virtually.
I personally love to travel and will continue to do so regardless of this pandemic. With the restrictions some foreign countries have, I will only focus on traveling domestically for the time being. However, I already have 4 trips planned for this year with the possibility for more.
Obviously, masks must be worn at the airport and on the plane but I will continue to follow all guidelines while at my destination. These include avoiding large gatherings, wearing masks indoors, and getting tested after visiting any locations that are covid “hotspots.”
Health and Fitness is also an area that is very important to me and many others. Early on in the pandemic, gyms were closed which made it difficult for some to get a proper workout in. I don’t see us going back to that type of restriction but even if that is the case, we can adapt with at-home workouts, outside boot camps, walks in the park, etc.
There are always other ways to exercise and stay healthy. Even trips to the grocery store can be limited with at-home deliveries which are now offered by the majority of grocery stores.
Now I want to make one thing very clear. There are immunocompromised individuals who have to take every precaution while this pandemic rages on. I understand that they do not have the privileges that many of us have. This article is in no way ignoring or belittling their circumstances. This is exactly why we all have a responsibility to be cautious and help protect those who cannot afford to catch this virus.
We now have the Omicron variant which is raging on in most parts of the world. In the future, there will be others that will cause changes to the way we live our lives. On the positive side, we have vaccines that are proven to work, and that keeps us from having to go back to many of the restrictions that were implemented at the beginning.
Regardless of what the future holds, try to keep yourself pushing forward in your life. Do not let anything stop you from progressing and getting the most out of it. There are ways to do this and still be cautious. Take care of yourself, and your neighbors who might need your help in certain ways during this pandemic. As always, stay positive!
