Don’t Know What To Do With Your Life? Here’s A Solution For You If You’re Feeling Lost.
I’ve been there and know how it feels

Life is simple, you’re making it complicated.
Your day-to-day actions are the ones that make life difficult for you. What kind of actions, you ask? It’s the act of going through the motions. It’s the act of staying idle. It’s the act of doing nothing. This is by far the primary reason most people are unable to find out what their passion is. They sit and wonder when will their passion find them.
Well, newsflash, your passion ain’t looking out for you, especially if you’re doing nothing.
You need to look out for your passion, by being proactive. Doing the same thing every day will not only suck the joy out of your life, but will also result in you never finding what you truly wanted out of life. Most gurus will tell you to just quit your job. But I won’t. I mean after all, who’s going to pay the bills, right?
I’ve tried plenty of things in life myself, from a traditional career to more of a digital career. I’ve tried academics, sports (cricket), sports management, SEO, Fitness, Content writing, Copywriting, etc. I think I’ve finally found my passion, in writing. Here’s the exact process I followed. Steal it to flip the course of your life.
Don’t Get Stuck In One Job Or Career
The sad reality of our world is everyone thinks you need to pick a career, get a job, and do it for the rest of your life.
I never agreed with this narrative. I’ve always been against the traditional path of going to college, getting a worthless degree, and working a job you hate for the rest of your life. This is why I’ve tried a bunch of unconventional career paths. Now, I think writing is my passion. Only time will tell how true it is.
The whole point is to keep exploring until you find the thing you would love to do for the rest of your life.
The reason most people don’t find their passion is they don’t try different things. They let their curiosity and creativity die. You don’t need to spend all your time finding your passion. Just make time for something you would like to try often on the side. After or before your job give a little time to the thing you find interesting. Find a way to make money through it. Once the income from the side hustle reaches near your full-time salary, quit your job.
A lot of successful creators/internet entrepreneurs followed their curiosity on the side before going all in.
Something to keep in mind is finding a suitable side hustle may take a lot of time. Even after you find it, you’ll need to dedicate a considerably long time to turn it into a full-time gig. Anywhere from 1 to 5 years. It’s still better than working a job you hate for 40 years.
Make peace with this fact or else you’ll stay at the same place.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” — Steve Jobs
Constantly Lookout For Opportunities
Apart from sports, I’ve found every career path I’ve tried through the internet.
- I never knew there a was whole course on sports management.
- I never knew digital marketing was booming.
- I never knew you could build a million-dollar business on the foundation of writing.
I found out about all of these things because I explored and followed my curiosity. If you do the same things every day and talk to the same people, your knowledge won’t expand. You’ll live in a bubble and your growth will be stunned. This situation can be tackled if you keep exploring. A few ways to do that is by talking to people from other industries, consuming content of great creators, reading quality books, and surfing the internet for opportunities.
The world has changed a lot in the past decade.
But most people aren’t aware of the opportunities in front of them. I was like that when I was a teenager. I thought there was nothing good in the world except sports. But once I started researching, things turned out to be way different. Nowadays, unconventional paths are helping people earn big money doing the things they love.
The outside world thinks writers don’t earn money.
But if you look online, digital writers are earning 6 and 7 figures. This is why you need to be aware and alert all the time. You don’t know what will be the next big thing and whether or not it will be something you enjoy.
Expose yourself to new information, it’ll change your life.
“Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize them.” — Ann Landers
Give Your Passion A Long Rope
The reason most people fail at converting their passion into a full-time gig is they give up too soon.
As I said above, your side hustle will require a lot of your time and effort. You can’t just pull the plug out in the first few months. In fact, the first few months are just for improvement. No matter how talented you are, your work will suck upfront. You need to remind yourself that as time goes on, you will improve your skills and get better. No one is good at anything on day one.
Instead of giving up, give your passion a long rope especially if you love it. Give it 3 years.
Worst case scenario, you spent your free time doing the thing you loved. Best case scenario, you turn it into a full-time thing. There are no downsides to doing it. Giving up, although, has plenty of downsides. I gave up on my dream of becoming a professional cricket player thinking that I wasn’t passionate enough or I wasn’t good enough. In reality, I didn’t give it a long run.
I gave up only after 1 year (practiced only for 10 months).
1 year is never enough to get good at anything. All professional players practice for years and years before becoming worth selecting for a national team. Any and every skill will require a long time. Make peace with that fact and give your passion a long run. Or else you’ll work the job you hate for the rest of your life. The choice is yours.
Your passion won’t fall out of the sky. You need to constantly look for it. You need to give it a long rope if you want it to be your primary gig.
“Passion is what gets you through the hardest times that might otherwise make strong men weak, or make you give up.” — Neil deGrasse Tyson
Don’t complicate the process. Follow the steps. Don’t give up. And you’ll get what you want.
