Don’t Judge Others

We think that we have the power to decide things for others even though our lives are a mess.

First I will address all the issues, then I will discuss the real problem. We are all familiar with this problem of judging others on a different basis.

Sometimes we judge people by their race, colour, breed, caste, origin, sex, and worse, we even judge people by their names. It feels like we are born to judge others, not to live our lives.

All this judgement is common in our lives and we all do it because some of us are not even aware that, consciously or unconsciously, we are judging people in our heads.

Thoughts they think are telling about people’s lives and characters. In actuality, they are just judging other people and their personalities.

If you take this lightly, then it is not an issue. However, if you carefully think through this, you’ll see that half of your time is going into this, and if you think beyond the line or sum up this time, you’ll notice that half of your life goes into judging others.

This is insane because you could have done some better things in that time. Moreover, that time could have changed your life.

Why do we all judge people, and why is it hard to find people who don’t judge others?

The answer to the second question is too simple, there are only a few people left who see people as they are, don’t judge them, and they treat them well.

Now, why do we all judge other people and sometimes we forget to see ourselves?

There is an old saying in INDIA (BHARAT) By SANT KABIR DAS;

बुरा जो देखन मैं चला, बुरा न मिलिया कोय । जो दिल खोजा आपना, मुझसे बुरा न कोय ।।

This means that — I went looking for bad, I couldn’t find any. When I searched my heart, no one was worse than me.

This explains a lot if you can understand this.

It’s because our minds are becoming more judgy day by day and we don’t have a clue about that.

Why is this happening to us?

It’s not our fault; it’s becoming pre-set in our system, and we are not really aware of that. From school to college, we are constantly taught to judge others, and in the end, we end up doing this to others in our daily lives.

From kids to adults, all judge others — sometimes in school, sometimes in their neighbourhood.

All this judging sometimes hurts people. That’s why we have bullies at schools and colleges. These bullies are not from another world; they are just people who judge others on the weak aspects of their lives. Later, this simple bullying turns into a big crime, and sometimes a lot of people get hurt by these crimes.

So, the root cause of all this is just a judgmental mind.

Not only this, there are other problems as well that are caused by our judgmental nature.

These problems are hatred, jealousy, and similar problems. The basic cause of these problems is our judgmental nature.

It doesn’t matter who we are, but we always judge others and compare ourselves with others. Somehow, if we find ourselves inferior or superior to them, we just start hating them for both reasons.

This is common in everyone’s lives — if they are not monks.

Most of our problems are caused by our judgmental nature, and later we end up ruining our lives because of this one simple reason.

I am not being judgy here, I am just including the truth that I have seen so far in the world. We are all victims of many judgemental things that are responsible for our mismatched lives.

We don’t have people to share our insecurities with because we believe that when we’re going to tell them our basic insecurities, they’re going to judge us. “Oh, this happens to you. This never happens to me. You are a weirdo.” These kinds of expressions are going to come from them.

That’s why we don’t have real friends or people to share our sh*t with because they don’t understand. They just judge and laugh. Because of this, we have so many suicide cases because people think that no one is going to understand what they’re going through and how they’re feeling in the first place.

Therefore, they end up taking their lives.

I have not done a study, but it is visible with the naked eye that we are all insecure in one or another way. We have a lot packed inside us, but there is no one who is ready to listen to our side of the story and want to share our understanding because everyone has got their package.

And they want to unload — but there is no one to listen.

Does this problem have a cure?

It’s not a very hard thing to cover up. We had overcome an epidemic and now it’s over.

It is also an epidemic, but an invisible one — plus we don’t even realise how it affects others when we judge them or pass comments based on our judgments.

Therefore, if we want to change anything, we have to realise that it hurts people when we judge them. We also need to be a little more sensitive towards others.

We also need to be strong at the same time. If anyone tries to judge us, we need not take that seriously because no one is feeding us, we are feeding ourselves.

So, the only one who can judge us is us. Don’t give that privilege to others.

Conclusion:

I am adding this in conclusion because it is more important than every other thing that I have mentioned in this article.

By watching society over the years, I have learned that our society is becoming a vicious cycle where people run shows that judge others and all the brands are there to make a difference, yet we feel privileged to buy those things and eager to participate in these shows, that’s how everything is fixed in this society.

So it’s up to you — you’ve to decide for yourself how you’re going to face this world without being judgmental towards others.

Thanks, stay safe and enjoy your life.
