Don’t Help Russia To Feed History Negatively.

If this war continues, the innocent, children, the poor, and the elderly in Ukraine will become collateral damage. Then history will have more power.

Growing up in a cruel and unforgiving world, where violence was routine and accepted, my heart was bleeding in pain for the people of Ukraine. I cried when I witnessed the Russian tanker trampling a car. Thank God the elderly driver survived.

My heart hurts to see the elderly fleeing in panic and tears — the distress and confusion on the faces of innocent children. Ukrainian have to be leaving their homes with their life in a suitcase. Hopelessness, agony, and fear are flowing from the hearts and on the faces of every Ukrainian.

Mothers have to leave their sons behind. Wives have to go and leave their husbands, brothers, uncles, brothers-in-law, nephews, and other male relatives between the ages of 18 and 60.

I would have had to leave my husband and sons behind had I been there. That is a thought that would stop my heart immediately. I would have to stay. Plus the economic repercussions will cause a ripple effect worldwide for many years because our world hasn’t started to recover from COVID 19 yet.

What about the children? Why isn’t anyone thinking about them? They were forgotten and ignored in COVID 19. Now humanity is repeating the cruelty and thoughtlessness that war and inconsiderate adult shares. War creates victims and enemies. Does humanity need more war?

We need unity, food, kindness, love, understanding, patience, forgiveness, and somewhere save to life. Better healthcare, a better world where our children can grow and live in peace and harmony. A place where animals can roam free, plants grow and thrive. A world without cruelty and hatred, etc. We don’t need or want war.

In my culture, violence and brutality is a language that is understood by all. It can be seen by the visually impaired. The hearing impaired can hear it without a hearing aid. The disabled person knows how to move when it’s coming. No Jamaicans are immune. #WeIntend2survive so we find ways to live with the violence. Many of us do not know peace.

According to a 2021 Census, Jamaica’s population is 2.97M people. COVID 19 infected 128K and killed 2,811 Jamaicans. Many were resistant to COVID 19, but not to the daily violence that plagued our country. Our hearts are with the Ukrainian people because we live with our enemies. The Caribbean sea surrounds us. We have no place of refuge.

I beg humanity, stop feeding history negatively. Pray for the Ukrainian people and help in any way you can. War creates victims of poverty, hatred, cruelty, long-suffering, etc. Peace establishes the opposite. Our world and its inhabitants have enough problems. I am tired of seeing the misery, horror, and desperation on the faces of humans in the media and newspapers.

Where has our love for each other gone?

Bring back the love! Let the hatred go! Stop the war! Allow Peace to grow! Unity is the only way humans will survive.
