Don’t Give Up on Medium

It is always hard when you are a beginner in every field. I count myself as a beginner here, and I always feel like giving up. I am sure there are a lot like me, so I am going to tell you one thing: do not give up.

I know you don’t like writing and you’re doing it for money, and you’re starting to feel invisible here or whatever you’re doing new, but I have some good news for you: even though I didn’t like writing at first and was just doing it to try something new and possibly make money, now I feel like it’s super easy to express yourself, and I can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t like to write.

I think that most people who say that they don’t like writing are lying to themselves or just don’t know it yet.

“I feel like an idiot expressing my feelings on a laptop.” This makes me angry, because it is not private; once you publish your thoughts, they are out there in the world. Any person from any country at any time can read and understand what you are talking about, and maybe you will make one person’s day, and I think that is enough.

We don’t realize how much power we give someone when we share our personal experiences or advice about something that has happened to us, because every single human being has his or her own life experiences.

It is impossible for a person to have all the knowledge in the world or think that he doesn’t need any advice.

My grandma once said (she was 70 years old at the moment, may her soul rest in peace): “I woke up less stupid today.” At first I didn’t know what she meant, so I asked her, and she explained to me that humans are born completely stupid, but every day they learn something and become a little less stupid, and that hit me.

At this point, I began to believe that if a person who has lived for over 70 years on the planet is saying this, then there must be something about this life that I am not understanding.

This is why, when you go to university, not all majors take the same courses, and not all majors study the same thing.

Every one of us has experiences and knowledge in one area but has no idea about another, so I recommend learning as much as you can from others and sharing your personal experiences with others.

At the end of the day, we can’t live without each other.

I’d like to conclude this article by saying that if you ever feel like writing is boring or makes no sense, just give it time and see for yourself how relaxing it is when you share your thoughts; it’s like self-meditation, and at the same time, you’re affecting the life of someone who might be on another continent and living a different life, so keep it up and share joy with the world because we need each other in this game of life.
