Don’t Call It A Comeback, I’ve Been Here For Months

Hurricane Idalia is over.

A day or two before the storm hit, the predicted path had shifted to the east of us quite a bit, so I wasn’t too concerned. I still made my preparations — filling water containers and filling the tub, etc., but I expected this to be unnecessary.

The storm was set to hit early on Wednesday, and when I checked the tracker that morning, the hurricane’s path had not only shifted back in our direction but it was also expected to make landfall as a Category 4 hurricane! Scary!

As it turned out, the storm hit as a Category 3 and quickly weakened to a Category 2. There were some scary moments, but it wasn’t too bad overall. It was actually quite fun. My husband and I, along with our pets, hung out on the front porch and watched the action unfold.

Anyway, I’m back after a very short hurricane break, and I’m ready to get caught up on everyone’s stories.

I already had my shower!
