Don’t Be Afraid to Fail, Have an Action-First Mindset

One of the greatest obstacles that most people face is the fear of failure. They just want things to be perfect, and failures and mistakes seem like disgusting and detestable maggots; they just don’t want it. And what happens later on is that they are so obsessive into so-called “perfect”, and inadvertently procrastinate on what should be doing. They use the word “perfect” as an excuse to avoid the actual work that should be done.
Personally, I fell into this trap too. I, too, procrastinated a lot. For me, I want to become a really good English speaker. (yes, I’m an Asian guy, and my native language isn’t English.) So, I looked for the “best” study plan to become fluent in English. Become fluent in six months, a year, just like that.
And what happens is that I was so into it to the point I forgot to apply those techniques. And after a decent amount of weeks and months, I realized that I wasn’t progressing that much. I noticed that I was only consuming, not producing. And guess what, the sooner I realized this, the faster my English learning improved.
In life, it’s good to learn things. Learning how to do new things is a novel idea. But when you reach to the point that you think you are not ready or you are somehow not enough and you need to learn more things, then it becomes deteriorating. You are so scared to get messed up, so scared to get out of your comfort zone, in this case, learning more things.
The harsh truth is…
If you never learn to take action, your ideas will always be just that, ideas.
Joey Schweitzer
You need to take action, really. Applying what you have learned and taking action on it will ultimately skyrocket your progress and your personal life than any other methods you will ever hear in your life.
And you will inevitably make mistakes along the way. And that’s fine because those exact mistakes are the things that will make you know what’s wrong, how to revise and correct, and how to keep going. These mistakes are essential because they make you stronger, wiser, and become better than yesterday.
So, take action.
Don’t be afraid to fail.
Learn from them.
And become better and better.
Eventually, you will be unstoppable.
