Don’t Allow Rest to Become Your Downfall

Falling into a rut of procrastination is easy to do but difficult to escape.

We’ve all been there before, experienced the same recurring scenario;

For weeks you’ve been working hard at chasing your goals. Putting in the work each day. Covering all the bases while trying to move forward in five different directions at once. It’s tough, and on top of all that you’ve also got your daily routines to tend to; work and family responsibilities being the major two.

You do your best to press on. Keep all the juggling balls in the air. But eventually, fatigue catches up and you convince yourself to take a break.

A few days perhaps, nothing serious. Just enough for you to catch up on some sleep; rest, recharge and replenish before getting back on track.

Sounds fair enough.

However, those few days turn into a week which then compounds into two. Before you know it a month rolls by and you find yourself stuck in a procrastination rut.

It’s a nightmare.

You want to get going again but can’t. Each time you try to take action it’s like a car running on empty. Chug! Chug! Chug! Splutter!

You’ve spent too much time sitting idle. Now, something needs to be done. It’s gonna take a big push, a jumpstart of some kind, and you’re the only one who can do it.

You know it’s time to dig deep. Get serious. Force yourself back into action.

But are you ready? Do you think you can do it?

Well, there’s only one way to find out.

The Future Lies in Your Hands

If achieving your goals were easy, everyone would be millionaires, driving around in flash cars, residing in fancy houses and living the life of their dreams.

But they’re not. Why?

Because situations such as the above occur.

Anyone who has the balls to chase their goals always begins the journey motivated and driven to succeed. But that enthusiasm doesn’t last, especially when the initial adrenaline rush wears off and the challenges of life start to get in the way. That’s when people falter.

Of course, we all need a break from time to time. It’s only natural. There’s no shame in it.

But it’s important to know when the rest period is over and it’s time to get back to work. Because falling into a rut of laziness is easy to do but difficult to escape.

However, should you wind up caught in inertia's icy grip; find yourself taking more than your fair share of nights off, justifying them with half-assed excuses, never fear for all is not lost just yet, you’ve got one of two options.

You can either accept chasing your goals, striving for success, and building a better life for yourself and your family just isn’t for you. Remain stagnant, living out the rest of your days in mediocrity.

Or

You can dig deep, make a conscious decision to break free from the shackles of laziness, and force yourself back on track, putting in the work until getting after it no longer feels like a chore.

So what’ll it be? I think we both know.

It’s time to put a stop to the inactivity, get your ass into gear, and get sh*t done.

Let’s go!
