Donald Trump’s New Son-In-Law Is From A S***hole Country
The irony of it all is simply too decadent
In January 2018, Donald Trump, then president of the US, referred to several countries in the world as being s***hole countries. Among them were Nigeria and Haiti. This weekend, his youngest daughter Tiffany Trump got married to Michael Boulos a Lebanese-Nigerian national who was born in the US, lived in Lebanon for a bit, but mostly grew up in Nigeria.
Boulos grew up and developed his core identity in a country that Trump clearly showed he did not value or respect.
Footage from the couple’s wedding shows a significant contingent of Nigerians in attendance. A large amount of Afrobeats genre music was played all throughout the event.
For those that don’t know, Afrobeats is a form of dance music that originated in Nigeria. It was recently discovered in the US, and many musicians there are collaborating with some of Nigeria’s renowned Afrobeats celebrities such as Buma Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Yemi Alade, and Rema. Afrobeats regularly tops music charts all over the world. But here, I digress.
I’m sitting here laughing because I wonder how racist Trump is taking the fact that his daughter is now married to a Lebanese-Nigerian national.
Isn’t he the Grand Wizard, after all, encouraging and supporting neo-nazis while they say and commit the vilest of acts?
I’ll never forget the Charlotteville riots in 2017 that followed the removal of the statue of racist Confederate General Robert E. Lee. Trump despite hearing the disgusting antisemitic chants of neo-nazis said that there were good people on both sides.
Wasn’t he the one that signed the executive order for the inhumane Muslim ban that deprived so many families of their loved ones and of being together?
Yeah, something just tells me that after the outrageous racism that he has displayed over the years, he can’t be too happy with the fact that Tiffany’s “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” date is a Lebanese-African gentleman. I’d have given anything to be a fly on the wall when she told him.
But maybe the fact that her fiancé’s family has a huge fortune, estimated at $2 billion, softened the blow a little for money-hungry Trump.
Though in his heart, I am sure that Trump isn’t happy Tiffany hasn’t married a white, all-American, Abercrombie & Fitch definition type of individual, I’m sure his campaigners are already thinking about how they can use Michael Boulos.
I can already imagine Trump running for presidential office in 2024 and using the “I’m not racist, my son-in-law is Lebanese-African” tagline. How much do you bet he’s going to use that to globally gaslight us all into believing that he isn’t a racist? But, we shouldn’t let him. He has shown us time and time again that he is racist, and we should believe him.
At the back of my mind, I ask myself what Trump’s white supremacist followers may be thinking at this very moment. He isn’t following or at least his youngest daughter Tiffany isn’t following their primary script, which is to proliferate the white race by making white babies.
But while there might be some attrition to his following given current events, I suspect that many will stay loyal because he panders to their racist ideals.
If Trump does get elected back into office in 2024, I wonder if he’ll mind his words better and not categorize entire swathes of people as being from s***hole countries.
Will his new family member educate him to not be racist, issue Muslim bans, or say that there are “good people” within neo-nazi groups? Will Trump come back to office a changed man? I highly doubt it, but maybe just maybe, his new Lebanese-Nigerian son-in-law may get him to think twice before he spews out divisive rhetoric and hatred. I’m still hopeful that a change can come about.
