Doing More Of What You Love Takes Not Just Skill; But Time

There isn’t a person alive without a story worth sharing. Has it always been a dream of yours to write a book? It’s been mine for way too many years.
Why are we waiting? For the perfect time? When might that be besides Now?
I have been writing more in the last couple of months after learning how to edit independently. I appreciate all that my editor taught me in our six months together. However, I couldn’t afford to write every day and pay her for every article.
I feel I have enough writing and editing skills to get started. Then what is the hold-up? Figuring out our hang-ups is vital to make a change.
Here are a few tips that are getting me started with a dream I have had for years. I have wanted to write a book and Now is my chance. Our achievements begin in our minds.
Write in thirty-minute increments
Thirty minutes a day adds up. The results are notable after a year. The same goes for working out and our physical health.
Thirty minutes times 365 days equals 182.5 hours. Don’t you think this is enough time to write a rough draft for your book? Now editing might be another story, but starting is a must.
Set a timer
Setting time aside to write a book shouldn’t be that difficult. I feel the same about working out. However, time keeps ticking, and these goals keep getting squashed.
How can you finally make writing a book a priority? Setting a timer is a good start while looking at it as using your writing muscle.
Thinking about the result can sometimes be a motivator itself. How will it feel when you finish your book?
Search for inspiration
A writer who has been a tremendous inspiration to me is Marcel Badia. I purchased his first book, and I’m now eagerly awaiting his book to come from Amazon any day. If you haven’t read his articles, I highly recommend his work, especially if you are an entrepreneur or thinking about becoming one.
Block out the world
I’m not implying to lock yourself away for a year. But how about at least thirty minutes a day? Could it be thirty minutes before everyone else wakes up? Could it be thirty minutes before bed? Could it be thirty minutes right before you eat dinner or right before you turn on your favorite television show?
It’s not that we don’t have the time. It’s that our priorities and focus have been on other things. We must shift our focus to set aside time. If something is important enough to us, we make it happen.
Write whenever it works
What works for one writer is impressive yet we must figure out what works for us. There isn’t an easy way. Anything that takes work is going to bring plenty of challenges too.
Embracing the time that works for you is the most important thing. I do a lot of my writing in the middle of the night. Our creativity hits the moment we awake, which is a great time to brain dump and write.
On your way, aspiring author
I am just beginning on the road to writing a book, but the urgency is becoming more sincere. It feels like something that keeps tugging at me and I can’t keep ignoring the urge.

When will your thirty minutes happen? The second your mind begins to hear, yes, I can. And stops listening to; there isn’t the time. You are well on your way.
