Those eyes. One cold. One warm.

Dog sledding in the Canadian Rockies was the first time I became aware of Heterochromia. Heterochromia Iridis is when the two irises of the eyes are different colours.

Absolutely beautiful,right?

Apparently this phenomenon is relatively common in Huskies. They are magnificent dogs and they revel in their work.

While the guides were loading up the sleds we had the opportunity to mingle with the dogs and show them some love. They loved the attention and the excitement in the dogs was palpable. They were chomping at the bit, itching to run. When they were let loose, boy did they run, exhilarating!

Without a doubt, the most fun I’ve had on snow.
