Does your Bucket Overflow?

Fill it up for yourself first with Self-Love before letting it spilling over.

Amid this forced lockdown phase, isn’t it correct to say that many of us have either gone, are going or maybe still can go into a total self-reflective mode.

This Quarantine period indeed has come as a key realization towards the importance of self-care – that area which many of us have always neglected and struggled at, feeling a pang of inherent guilt with the thought of putting oneself above others.

Moving on, haven’t the majority of us always thought and wondered:-

How to be The BEST friend?

How to be The BEST spouse?

How to have The BEST child?

How to be The BEST entrepreneur?

How to be The BEST parent?

How to have The BEST family?

How to be The BEST among the rest?

And then think …

How the hell is all this possible?

Guess what .. it totally is!

⁣I truly believe it’s possible but only when we decide to be the best versions of ourselves. Only at those times when we are at our best can we be at our best for others too.

Don’t we all get high – feel elated when our tender loving care is appreciated? It sure gives us an endorphin rush but that’s momentarily only till we have our full, as we are like a bucket with a hole.

Have you ever wondered why is this rush temporary?

It’s simple because we concentrate on filling others up first before we fill ourselves and that’s why our overflow leaves us drained.

So to make this happy and fulfilling feeling stay we need to first fill ourselves up each and every day.

From now on, fill yourself up each day with what brings you joy, love, happiness, gratitude as well as self-love. Once your own bucket is full, let it overflow and keep spilling on all those around you.

Think back, remember all those times of frustration, anger as well as the guilt trips when self- love had taken a back seat, leaving one with noting but empty buckets to offer …

If you do not wish this situation to happen again, work on building a perfect relationship where you start with yourself first. Only when your relationship with your own self is complete, beautiful, and satisfying, will ⁣it be the same way with every other relationship in your life.

Don’t let the guilt of “ Why Me First ?” consume and destroy you.

Rather knock it down with your own daily chant each morning as you wake.“I give myself the grant to love and care for myself first so that I have the power to love and care for others simultaneously and selflessly.”

Once you make this a habit, you shall see how beautiful each day in life becomes!

And yes .. don’t forget to ask yourself after chanting .“What more special can I do to love and care for myself today ?”

So let’s hear in the responses what special are you going to do for yourself today!

Till then,

Stay Healthy, Loving & Happy,

Love,

Geetika.
