Does That Mean I Am Alive

Poem on Introspection

Photo by James Lee on Unsplash

I have witnessed many eyes Shedding everything but The true emotions I have seen the well of sadness Hidden inside many eyes Does that mean I am Alive

I have never seen a lifeless body I have never experienced bringing life into this world But I can feel the The agony of death and joy of life Does that mean I am Alive

I have seen the loneliness Waiting to claim its next victim I have witnessed the solitude Hug the man sitting alone Does that mean I am Alive

I have seen the poverty Robbing the children of their childhood I have seen money Ripping off the innocence Does that mean I am Alive

I have never met life I have never faced death I have never known fear But I have felt heavens In my every breath Does that mean I am Alive

My heart has experienced The invisible power My mind acknowledges The blessings in every hour Does that mean I am Alive

I have seen the work done By the mighty hand Like the soft moonbeams Falling into the dreamland Does that mean I am Alive

I have never seen the creator I have never seen its army I often see the sun of hope shining When the sky of life gets stormy I can hear the voice of the universe As much as it can hear me Does that mean I am Alive

I have seen the golden dawn I have seen the relaxing dusk I have seen the end carry the Faith of a new beginning Does that mean I am Alive

I am a restless mind With endless questions But I intend to seek the answers For that, I will keep on trying Does that mean I am Alive
