Does It Feel Like You’re Headed For Burnout?

(There is a life out there for you that is way less relentless).

Do you feel like you’re headed for burnout? Maybe not. Maybe all is hunky dory in your working life?

For me though, I didn’t even realise that I was headed for burnout all those years ago.

Yes, I felt super busy all the time, often exhausted and stress was just part of dealing with the job, or so I thought.

Your body telling you though, may be your first warning sign that you are headed for burnout and meltdown (and for some, the last warning they will ever get).

A bit dramatic? Actually, no.

Just this year, a guy we know here on the island where I live, who ran a holiday resort here with his wife, was walking across the grass towards his home when…

BANG! He was hit with a massive heart attack. Dropped dead, right there on the spot.

The whole thing was caught on CCTV and sadly seen by his wife the following day.

Totally unexpected. He was late fifties, early sixties perhaps. No warning. Just gone in an instant. Leaving behind a shell-shocked wife and family.

We’ve no doubt all heard stories like this, but we just feel sorry for the relatives and go right ahead back to our over-busy, rushed and stressed out lives the very next day.

Most people are just so busy they never stop to consider if they are happy or not. Whether they should plan an escape to a calmer way of life before it’s too late.

Most people spend way more time planning an annual holiday than they ever do planning the remainder of their future life and how they actually want to spend it.

You know what I’ve said before. Be careful where you’re headed, because you might just end up there!

It took a suspected heart attack to pull me up short and actually wake up.

Wake up to the fact that we are only here once and for a short time, (some shorter than others).

For other people it has actually been having a real heart attack.

Mine, many years ago turned out to be an esophagus spasm, caused by stress, exhaustion and working long, long hours.

It made me look at life differently though.

Made me ask myself, ‘do I really want to be stressing and struggling all my life, working all the hours God sends?’

‘Is work always going to be the thing that takes up the biggest part of my life, with barely any time to actually have a life?’

I wanted a life that was less stressful, less of a drudge, less of having to do the same old thing every damn day.

I realised that what I needed if things were ever going to change for me, was an actual ‘job escape plan’.

So I created it. I took the time out to actually think about the kind of life that I truly wanted to live going forward.

Doing that, actually calling time-out and giving my future life the thought and planning it deserved, led to me being able to escape a life I didn’t want, to a life that I adore and feel blessed to live every single day.

For me, that meant moving to a different country and setting up home on a tropical island with my wife.

Over the years since, I have improved and refined that escape plan, to the point where I have now shared it with others in the same trapped position.

I have helped them move from feeling trapped to discovering their own different way of life. A life that is less relentless.

In essence, I have helped them to create their own ‘Job Escape Plan’.

For me, that has been part of the enjoyment, happiness and fulfillment that has come with my decision to plan an escape from my old life to actually then making that new life plan a reality.

When will you start creating your own escape plan?

….

If you’d like my help to move to a life that is less stressed and far less relentless, where you can feel happy and fulfilled in your day-to-day life…

You can get my help to create your own ‘Job Escape Plan’ right here, starting as soon as today.

See you over there!
