You may need help in this life

Life can be challenging and unsure. It would be easier to achieve success if other people would help you. They may or may not be willing to stick their necks out to be of help to you. Good friends and family members may be your best source of help.

When my first book was published, some friends said they would help it to go viral. They claimed it would be a possibility to make it a success. Although there have been some very favorable comments about the book, that did not happen. The friends who said they would help promote the book never came through. You need to depend on yourself to some degree.

Unless you have a name or position which will bring immediate recognition or the subject is of great interest such as being about a President of the United States, it may be quite difficult to find success with a book.

Your family might be willing to help you, but their influence and support may be of little value unless they have magical powers with marketing. An author must promote his own book in order to sell multiple copies. If marketing is not your thing and you can’t pay someone else to do it, the book may not sell. With millions of books published, the competition is tough.

Even when paying some company that claims that they will get sales of the book for you, that may not happen. They will take your money, but there is no guarantee that they will have success in selling copies of the book.

You may have friends in the media and marketing industries who could help you with marketing. It is difficult for most authors to ask them for help unless someone offers it. Maybe you need to bite the bullet and just ASK for help.

If you can find people who are in your same boat, it will be helpful to discuss your problems with them. You can share ideas and thoughts. Maybe you can commiserate together. It might make you feel better, and you may get some good ideas which will benefit you.

The sad reality is that people may not be willing or able to help you. The main thing is that you need to help yourself. You should study all you can and figure out what it will take for you to be successful. It is difficult and may take years to achieve the goals you set for yourself.

Don’t give up. If you believe in yourself and your work, there is no reason to quit what you are doing. Success may not come quickly, but it will not come at all if you don’t try.

You might get lucky and find that one person who will help you when you need it. Keep believing and keep working.
