While their latest piece received over 100 views within an hour, it did not translate into any earnings, as the views were external, primarily from smartnews.com. Do you feel bad when your Medium story got 100 plus views within an hour, but your earnings remain at Zero $?

If yes, then I am with you. I was glad to see the rising stats, but when I checked out the details of the Medium story, I got disheartened. It is because I also fall into the pit of views. Unfortunately, these views are useless in front of earning a few pennies. Why? Because these views are all external views coming from smartnews.com.

Although I get views and reads, these views are of no use — to enter into the 100$ club. I am happy and sad at the same time. I do not know how to react, but the rising stats of views is so agitating. It does spoil the charm of my heart. I feel pleasure to have another viral story — but this time — the viral story will not bring some $ together. It is right to say that my Medium story got viral, but this virility exists outside of the Medium.

It is not happening for the first time with me. I already have Medium stories that are gaining external views mostly from the google search engine, but all is vain in front of getting some $. If this thing continues, I might lose my heart. I want to be a part of the 100$ club but failing. Medium does pay you according to the reading time, and this reading time should be internal.

External views and 50 claps are useless in front of getting $. It is also pushing the writers to enter into the 100 $ club. I am not the only one who feels this thing. Many other writers fall into the pit of external views. Some have pledged to Medium to pay for external views — but nothing happens. I am not pleading for the $’s, but I am frustrated with getting so many external views on Medium story with zero $ earning.

Dear Medium writers, Medium is one of the best platforms I have ever met during the online journey. It has a variety of niches with writing experts. It is a hub of old and new writers, who are entertaining the readers with their writings.

No doubt, every other writer is performing best. Some are trying to get into the race of 100$ club, and others are using Medium to feed the mind. I am anxious to be a part of the 100$ club, but it is not easy as people used to say. It is also impossible with external views. This thing is just sucking the mind. I did not know where the mistake lies in the story. If it has the potential to bring external views, then why not internal views.

Everyone knows that entering into the 100$ club does need constant work at Medium, but why — there is discrimination between internal and external views. It is like burning the dollars of writer. Medium should introduce something for this so that writers can reach the height of the 100$ club.

I hope one day we will be a part of the 100$ club.
