Do You Put Enough Effort Into How You Feel Today?
Feeling good is the best way to be productive all day long

Last weekend I went to a photography class outdoors. It was a cloudy cold morning and being new to photography I was anxious to attend the class and meet other students.
But our mentors made us feel very comfortable.
As we were walking around the town, trying to find different compositions to capture, my nervousness took a back seat and I was completely immersed in observing the simple yet beautiful surroundings around me.

Our surroundings affect our mood
There are so many places in the world that have an old-world charm. A place that transports you back in time, where everything is simpler and easier. They evoke a sense of nostalgia and mystery and the unique architecture and history make them even more appealing.
Despite the light rain walking around the beautiful streets, away from the busy streets of town felt so beautiful.
As a photographer, you learn to look at things in a completely new way
There is so much joy in simply observing other people, we can learn so much from each other. It’s a validation that our feelings are genuine, that we all feel the same emotions and it’s about the simple things in life.
To watch little kids exploring the world, families enjoying the outdoors, and smiling faces. We stopped to take pictures of a beautiful path lined with trees and a bench close by. Without a camera in my hand, I would have missed this spot or it would have been just another scenery.

And you can’t miss the community feel of such places. Everyone knows each other and you interact with neighbours, friends, or even strangers very easily. The streets are abuzz with local businesses, restaurants, and cafe’s, a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy coffee or a meal with friends.
Our mentor who is well known in the community, met an old buddy’s son who offered him an assignment right away, such a beautiful gesture!
Sometime later during our practice session, our mentor took a beautiful shot of a family nearby, with their permission of course, and offered to share with them. They were delighted to get a family moment captured.
In fact, we met so many passers-by who were willing to get a picture taken, be it of themselves, or their children or pets, simply having fun in the moment!
For a professional photographer, it’s always about relationships with clients.
How often do we witness these beautiful, coincidental moments in our everyday life?
By the end of our two hours class, I felt so good and energetic. This place is so close to where I live yet I barely make an effort to visit and experience the serenity and joy it offers.
This experience taught me two important lessons
- Our surroundings make a huge difference on how we feel and sometimes we don’t have to put in much effort to feel better.
2. Never underestimate the power of feeling good.
Make your morning routine a priority
It’s up to us to make ourselves feel better. Our morning routine sets the tone for how we feel and do our tasks throughout the day. Just like a morning workout make us feel energized and lively which in turn makes our day a lot better.
There is no magic pill but there are many things that can make us a little happier. Make sure you’re doing a little something to boost your mood every morning!
Take a moment to reflect and ask yourself. Are you feeling happy, energized and productive? If not, it’s time to get active!
Some beautiful articles I read this week
By Malini — Why sensitive people should feel more proud and less guilty.
By Andrea Tanay- The meaning of love and it’s infinite ripple effect.
Until next time!
