Summary

The website content outlines a writing challenge for February focused on the theme of love, with daily prompts provided for participants to respond to with personal essays.

Abstract

The February writing challenge is designed to inspire participants to explore the concept of love through a series of 28 prompts, with one prompt to be addressed every day of the month. This challenge is presented as a follow-up to a previous January challenge and aims to foster a sense of community among writers who are encouraged to share their stories and experiences in a candid and humorous manner. The challenge emphasizes honesty and personal truth over the curated appearances often seen on social media, with a word limit of 500 words per response. Participants are invited to comment on the post and tag the organizer in their responses to engage with the community of "writing warriors."

Opinions

  • The challenge is initially described as a "mini challenge" with 14 prompts but is later corrected to a full-sized challenge with 28 prompts, indicating a potential change in the challenge's scope.
  • The organizer acknowledges the difficulty of the previous month's challenge and suggests that this month's focus on love may allow for a more relaxed and "chill" experience.
  • There is a sense of camaraderie and support within the group, as the organizer expresses pride in the community that has formed through the shared experience of writing and vulnerability.
  • The challenge is not just about writing but also about self-reflection and connection, with prompts designed to elicit personal stories that range from romantic to introspective.
  • The organizer values authenticity and encourages participants to be fearless in their storytelling, avoiding the temptation to filter or sugarcoat their experiences.
  • Participants are given creative freedom to interpret the prompts in their own way, with the option to maintain anonymity by changing identifying names and places if desired.

Do You Love a Challenge? Then You’ll Love My Prompts for February

Hint: it’s all about love, baby

Made in Canva.

Before you go freakin’ out on me, just know this challenge is a little more chill than last month. Think of it as a mini challenge, a cute mini-sized, heart-shaped challenge.

EDIT: It’s actually not a mini-challenge. It’s now a normal-sized challenge. Don’t ask. Shit got confusing for a while there.

That’s right. This one is only 14 prompts, 14 days of writing.

To take the pressure off, we’ll be answering a prompt every second day. That means you have two days to work on the one prompt — see, maybe, I can tone my schadenfreude down. I don’t exactly enjoying watching you all flail about, chasing your tails.

EDIT: We actually will be answering a prompt every day. It’s 28 prompts, not 14.

Are you game enough to commit?

For those of you who completed my January challenge, I’ve loved learning more about you. We’ve shared some of the most deeply personal, embarrassing, funny and random-arse stories with each other, and dare I say it, we’ve even created a little community.

A commuity of fearless oversharers, of writing warriors. Afraid of nothing and willing to do it whatever it takes to answer every prompt as honestly and humorously as we can.

We’re committed to writing, to forging a path for ourselves through the abyss of Medium, to having our voices heard and our experiences validated.

In a world where social media is rife, we need honest voices telling us how it is. There are no filtered pictures here. No secrets, no sugarcoating… just the truth.

There’s a limit of 500 words but you can interpret the topics anyway you like. Leave me a comment on this post if you’re up for the challenge and don’t forget to tag me in your responses.
