Do You Live Life as a NCIC? #5
NCICs Are a New Species in God, what is Called ‘A New Creation in Christ.’ They Respond More in God’s Way, Not in Their Way.

NCICs know God sent Jesus to bring us his gospel. He said we must believe it and live it. He didn’t give us a choice. He didn’t intend to. If this is true, the gospel is for us to accept, submit to, and respond to. It does not direct us to initiate or rule in life.
Non-NCICs want to change events and people to be more to their liking and to make their reality different. Psychology defines this as neurosis.
So if Christians do this they are neurotic Christians. One other word for this is narcissism. God says to learn to be content in all circumstances, and he will comfort us if we turn the situation over to him. But if we can change it…
We all hear the Serenity prayer:
NCICs live in the reality of this but non-NCICs are too focused on change.
NCICs live in an awesome sense of thankfulness. Paul says, “In everything give thanks.” It’s not thanks FOR things, but IN them. We don’t give thanks for cancer or other traumatic events. But we can have a thankful, praise-filled heart even IN cancer.
There is a power in praise and worship even if we don’t approve of all that happens in life, or even understand it. There are just some things that can’t be grasped by a 3-D, human mind that is largely self-focused.

We really can’t live in thankfulness if we are neurotic, because our focus is on us and the world, not on God or on eternity. NCICs know God doesn’t CAUSE bad things to happen. ‘Bad things happen to good people.’ We are all imposed upon by what is termed, “The world, the flesh, and the devil.”
Our job is mostly to respond to life, not control everything. When we try to initiate things with most other people, or just with life in general, things don’t often turn out to our satisfaction.
