Last night my 20 year old son Caleb asked me: ”Want to go to Buc-ee’s tomorrow?” When your 20 year old son who’s home for spring break asks you to go on a “mini-road trip” the smart Dad says yes. A benefit of the online lifestyle… Buc-ee’s is a huge “travel center” that has become a destination place for 20 somethings, featuring from what I hear, really good bbq. The one we’re going to check out is an hour and a half away and is 53, 200 square feet. As I read their about info, it’s clear they never set out to be a destination site. Buc-ee’s focused on a few things and did them really well, and it grew from there. Speaking of “growing from there”… I never set out to be know as “The Template Guy.” At the recommendation of a mentor and a colleague my first digital product in 2005 was a set of article creation templates. Things kinda blew up from there.
